7 Black-Owned HTX Dining Experiences
Houston is widely recognized as one of the culinary capitals of America and that simply wouldn’t be the case without the countless contributions of so many talented, creative, and hardworking Black chefs and restauranteurs. This Black History Month, as we remember and pay tribute to Black Houstonians of previous generations, we also want to honor the present and future accomplishments of Black Houstonians. With that in mind, we’d like to celebrate and recognize a few Black-Owned restaurants making a positive impact today on our neighborhoods and the city as a whole.
THIRTEEN
James Harden may not be playing for the Rockets anymore, but his restaurant is here to stay. Brunch, fine wine, and a hookah lounge? Sounds like a lucky thirteen to us! @thirteenhouston
THE BREAKFAST KLUB
Rise and shine, breakfast starts at 7 A.M. in this klub. The best chicken and waffles are served in this establishment and you’ll want to bring anyone who deserves a delicious morning meal… so basically everyone. @katfishandgrits
TURKEY LEG HUT
Stuffed turkey legs that are famous for a reason, seasoned jumbo wings, and Cajun favorites like boudin and crawfish means this hut makes the cut. Just a heads up, this venue is a little cozy, so you should call ahead. @turkeyleghut
TWISTED GRILLED CHEESE
What started as a food truck now has two different locations that are serving our community with cheesy greatness. Just look at that cheese pull. @twistedgrilledcheese

Impeccable pastries, organic teas hand blended and packaged in HTX, and quality coffee from 3 local roasters will have you feeling more than good. @throughgoodc

REGGAE HUT
This Third Ward staple has been serving up Authentic Caribbean cuisine for 25 years. How does a rum punch for happy hour sound? @reggaehut
